Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-347-24 with Cross Country Staffing, Inc. (dba Medical Staffing Network), a
corporation, effective May 1, 2015, to amend Contract #26-347-22 (as amended by Amendment Agreement
#26-347-23), to increase the total Contract Payment limit by $300,000 from $7,931,000, to a new total payment limit
of $8,231,000 to provide an additional level of temporary help services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and
Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), with no change in the original term May 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise I Fund. (Rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On June 3, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-347-22 (as amended by Amendment Agreement
#26-347-23) with Cross Country Staffing, Inc., for the period from May 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015, for the
provision of temporary medical services including nursing,

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
therapy, radiology and pharmacy services for CCRMC. At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on
target levels of utilization. County has requested and Contractor has agreed to provide an additional level of specialty
services at CCRMC. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-347-24 will allow Contractor to provide
additional temporary help services through June 30, 2015.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring specialty services at CCRMC will not have access to
Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
