Subject:Execute an Assignment, Assumption, and Novation Agreement with Valley Operator, LLC, Martinez Area
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
in September 2014 is an agreement between the County and Valley Operators, LLC. City of Martinez, acting as
SD-6 staff, has expressed the desire to assume the responsibilities and rights of the existing contract from the
County to allow a smooth transition.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without approval from the Board of Supervisors, the existing contract with Valley Operators, LLC, cannot be
transferred to SD-6 and SD-6 will need to procure a separate contract in order to continue to provide service via a
contractor.
