In the Matter of Congratulating )
Fred Maria on his Retirement ) Resolution No. 86/643
)
WHEREAS Fred Maria is ready to turn in his badge, hang
up his holster and retire on November 3, 1986 after 32 years
with the• Sheriff ' s Department; and
WHEREAS Fred Maria the 54-year-old Crockett resident,
who has been a bailiff longer than anyone else in the
county, jokes that "after 21 years you should know
something;" and
WHEREAS Fred Maria has seen the courthouse staff grow
from four judges to -fifteen; and
WHEREAS Fred Maria was selected by Judge Martin
Rothenberg twenty-one years ago; and
WHEREAS Judge Patricia Herron picked him for her court
four years ago when Judge Rothenberg retired; and
WHEREAS Fred Maria provided the finest example of a
public servant, the epitome of what a bailiff should be; and
WHEREAS Fred Maria has contributed countless hours of
volunteer time as a member of the Crockett-Carquinez Fire
Protection District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California,
hereby CONGRATULATES Fred Maria upon his retirement from
public life and COMMENDS his dedication to the citizens of
Crockett and Contra Costa County in his years of county
service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board Extends to Fred
and his family its best wishes for continued good health,
happiness, and prosperity.
PASSED and ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board on
the fourth day of November 1986.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and
correct copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of the
Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
