HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05052015 - C.83RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Contra Costa Senior Legal Services, effective March 1, 2015 to increase the payment limit by $765 to a new payment limit not to exceed $110,270, to provide countywide legal services to eligible clients 60 years of age and older, with no change in the term of July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: $110,270 Older Americans Act Title IIIB and Title VII, 100% Federal - No County Funds. BACKGROUND: Contra Costa Legal Services provides countywide legal services (e.g. phone calls, letters, document review, negotiations), representation at administrative proceedings and representation in court hearings to eligible clients at least 60 years of age and older; with emphasis on those individuals of greatest social need, greatest economic need, minority persons and particularly minority persons with the greatest economic need. This amendment adds $765 which will allow additional Seniors to receive legal assistance.
