APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent or designee to execute, on behalf of the Chief Information
Officer (Department of Information Technology), purchase orders with Dell Marketing LP and Integrated Archive
Systems, Inc., and a third-party lease agreement with IBM Credit, LLC, in an amount not to exceed $799,960 for the
purchase of hardware and software required to maintain the County’s wide area network, for the period of June 1,
2015 through May 31, 2019.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of $799,960 is charged back to user departments through the Department of Information Technology’s
billing process. (100% Department User Fees)
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Information Technology is purchasing hardware and software to maintain the County’s wide area
network. The Purchasing Division has arranged a lease purchase contract with IBM Credit, LLC. The total amount
financed is $754,698 at an interest rate not to exceed 3%. The interest amount under this agreement is not to exceed
$45,262. The principal and interest for annual payments has been budgeted under Org No. 1075 for Fiscal Year
2014/15. This Lease Purchase includes $49,231 with Dell Marketing LP, for servers, and $705,467 for Primary Data
Center Cluster and software. Annual payments for 5 years will not exceed $159,992.
