HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04212015 - C.29RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Resolution No. 2015/131 to approve and authorize the Employment and Human Services Director or designee, to execute a contract amendment with the California Department of Aging to increase the amount payable to the county by $3,109 to a total payment limit of $428,864 for Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program services for the period April 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: County to receive $428,864 (including the contract amendment increase of $3,109, Agreement HI-1415-07, Amendment 1) from the California Department of Aging, One-Time Only federal State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) funds. 100% Federal. No County match. BACKGROUND: The Employment and Human Services Department, Area Agency on Aging, provides Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program services to Medicare beneficiaries including Medicare beneficiaries by virtue of a disability and those persons imminent of Medicare eligibility as defined by Welfare and Institutions Code (W&I) sections 9541 (a) and (c)(2) and to the public at large for HICAP community education services under W&I Code sections 9541 (c) (1) (4), (5) and (6).
