Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-644-13 with MGA Healthcare, Inc., a corporation, effective March 19, 2015, to amend
Contract #26-644-12, to provide additional temporary help services to include a specialty Registered Nursing
category, with no change in the original payment limit of $1,000,000 and no change in the original term of January 1,
2015 through December 31, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On January 6, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-644-12 with MGA Healthcare, Inc., for the
provision of temporary pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and permanent placement recruitment services at Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC) for the period from January 1, 2015
through December 31, 2015. CCRMC is required to provide adequate staffing to conduct discharge planning and
utilization review management for

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
patients being discharged from the County Hospital. Due to resignations, retirements, sick leave and extended
medical leave, County requested and Contractor agreed to provide additional temporary help services to include
specialty Registered Nursing services. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-644-13 will allow the
Contractor to provide additional temporary help services through December 31, 2015.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, County will not meet regulatory requirements and additional levels of service will
not be provided by Contractor, which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
