Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-725-4 with Institute for Healthcare Improvement, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $419,756,
to provide consultation and technical support services to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center’s (CCRMC), Chief
Executive Officer for the period from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Hospital fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On March 25, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-725-3 with Institute for Healthcare
Improvement for the provision of consultation and technical support services for CCRMC’s Chief Executive Officer,
for the period from January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014. These services include:
Strategic Guidance in identifying and outlining focus areas for redesigning the ambulatory care system1.
Improving the patient experience2.

Approval of Contract #26-725-4 will allow Contractor to continue providing services through December 31, 2015.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contractor will not continue to provide consultation and technical support for
CCRMC’s Chief Executive Officer.
