Activities
The opening of the left turn lane from westbound Treat Blvd to southbound Cherry Lane
to improve access to the John Muir medical facility at 1450 Treat Blvd.
Consideration of traffic calming measures along Cherry Lane from Treat Blvd. south.
Review of BART’s earthquake safety project and its impact on the Centre.
Review of the County Housing Element for the Contra Costa Centre.
Evaluation and recommendations for the upkeep of Walden I and II.
Approval of signage changes for Treat Towers.
Consideration of land use requests including a permit variance for 2700 Cherry Lane,
the upkeep of 3010 Del Hombre and use permits for Sabores Del Sur
Participation in the Treat Blvd/I680 bicycle and pedestrian improvements.
Accomplishments
Approval of a recommendation to reopen the left turn lane from Treat Blvd to Cherry
Lane with a four vehicle per cycle limit.
Attendance/Representation
Attendance to our meetings was good, with 91% attendance by existing MAC members.
Turnover in 2014 was somewhat higher than in the prior year, with the MAC starting with two
vacancies, gaining one member during the year but losing three of seven members by year
end, one to a personal relocation out of the area and two for personal reasons. The MAC
ended the year with three vacancies. Public attendance was light throughout the year, except
for meetings involving the traffic management around the 1450 Treat Blvd John Muir medical
office.
Training/Certification
Members have all been through the Brown Act training. Budget training / certification was not
needed, as we again had no budget to manage.
Proposed Work Plan/Objectives for Next Year
We continue to discuss the uses of the Centre’s Block C and how it will be
develop.
We will continue to monitor the upkeep of public spaces in and adjacent to the
Centre.
We will continue to monitor the potential increases to traffic on Cherry Lane
resulting from the opening of the John Muir Urgent Care center.
