APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Chief Information
Officer, a purchase order with Oracle USA, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $267,000 for annual software licenses
and maintenance renewals for the period of May 31, 2015 through May 30, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The approximate cost of $267,000 is included in the Recommended FY 2015/2016 budget and will be charged to
user departments based on a percentage of their usage, via the DoIT billing process.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Information Technology initiates the purchase and renewal of software license maintenance from
Oracle USA, Inc., each year on behalf of various County Departments. The related departments are charged for their
share of the cost, as applicable. The Oracle software supports such county-wide systems as PeopleSoft and the GIS
(Geographic Information System).
In accordance with Administrative Bulletin No 611.0, County Departments are required to obtain Board approval for
single item purchases over $100,000. The County Administrator’s Office has reviewed this request and recommends
approval.
