HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03312015 - C.126RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent or designee to execute, on behalf of the Chief Information Officer, a purchase order amendment with Oracle USA, Inc., to increase the payment limit by $6,156.24 to a new payment limit of $264,721.10 for annual software licenses and maintenance renewals with no change in the term of May 31, 2014 through May 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: The approximate cost of $265,000 is included in the Recommended FY 2014/2015 budget and will be charged to user departments based on a percentage of their usage, via the DoIT billing process. BACKGROUND: The Department of Information Technology initiates the purchase and renewal of software license maintenance from Oracle USA, Inc., each year on behalf of various County departments. The related departments are charged for their share of the cost, as applicable. The Oracle software supports such countywide systems as PeopleSoft and the GIS (Geographic Information System). In accordance with Administrative Bulletin No 611.0, County Departments are required to obtain Board approval for single item purchases over $100,000. The County Administrator’s Office has reviewed this request and recommends approval.
