HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03312015 - C.125RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent or designee to execute, on behalf of the Chief Information Officer, a purchase order with Oracle USA, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $194,000 for software licensing, technical support and maintenance for the County's payroll system, for the period July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: $194,000. The cost is billed in quarterly installments and charged to Department 0145 Employee/Retiree Benefits. BACKGROUND: The Department of Information Technology initiates the purchase and renewal of software license maintenance from Oracle USA, Inc., on behalf of various County Departments. Each participating department is charged for their percentage of the licenses and fees, as applicable. This particular licensing agreement is to support the County's payroll system. In accordance with Administrative Bulletin No 611.0, County Departments are required to get Board approval for single item purchases over $100,000. The County Administrator’s Office has reviewed this request and recommends approval. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Proprietary software; required by the manufacturer to continue use.
