HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03312015 - C.109RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD), Information Technology Unit, to execute a purchase order with Sharp Business Systems, in the amount not to exceed $167,098 to procure 19 Sharp Smart Boards, Digital Whiteboards, for the period April 15, 2015 through April 14, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: $167,098: 100% Administrative Overhead (10% County; 45% State; 45% Federal) BACKGROUND: This purchase will enable EHSD to upgrade its training facilities and conference rooms with SmartBoards, Digital Whiteboards. Originally bid out by GSD, EHSD piloted several of these devices in multiple locations, including conference rooms and classrooms. The SmartBoards were very well received. Staff development has asked that these be rolled out to all training facilities as they enhance the training experience. Use in conference room was likewise well received. Conference room use where these devices are located has gone up. An overlay function permits display of web pages and applications and allows users to notate on the display using touch tools and record those changes. This enhances many design processes and conference room discussions. Also, as many of these conference rooms will double as training facilities from time to time, consistent facilities will be available for all training.
