Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#74-459-2 with Michael Fidler, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $116,480, to provide
outpatient psychiatric services for mentally ill adults in West County for the period from April 1, 2015 through March
31, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% byCCHP Enterprise Fund III, offset by third-party billing. (No Rate Increase)
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide
specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available.
On February 25, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-459-1 with Michael Fidler, M.D. for the

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
outpatient psychiatric services for mentally ill adults at the El Portal Clinic in West County for the period from April
1, 2014 through March 31, 2015.
Approval of Contract #74-459-2 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide outpatient psychiatric services
through March 31, 2016.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring outpatient psychiatric services will not have access to
Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
