HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03312015 - C.67RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Resolution No. 2015/89 to approve and authorize the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with the California Department of Aging to pay County an amount not to exceed $27,124 for Medicare Improvements for Patients and Provide Act services for the period of February 1, 2015 through September 29, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: County to receive an amount not to exceed 27,124 from California Department of Aging, Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act, Agreement MI-1415-07. 100% Federal. No County match. BACKGROUND: California Department of Aging, Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) finding will provide outreach and enrollment assistance to individuals who may be eligible for Medicare Part D low income subsidies and the Medicare Savings Program, administered by Medi-Cal. These services will be performed by the Contra Costa County Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP). CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without funding, County could not provide Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act services.
