FISCAL IMPACT: Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund payment of $190,000, less permanent disability payments. BACKGROUND: Attorney Benjamin Tolentino, defense counsel for the County, has advised the County Administrator that within authorization an agreement has been reached settling the workers' compensation claim of Denise Burtis v. Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. The Board's March 10, 2015 closed session vote was Supervisors, Gioia, Andersen, Piepho and Mitchoff - Yes. Supervisor Gover - Absent. This action is taken so that the terms of this final settlement and the earlier March 10, 2005 closed session vote of his Board authorizing its negotiated settlement are known publicly.
