HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03102015 - C.53RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-793 with Lauren Strickland, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide general surgery services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from February 15, 2015 through February 28, 2018. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: For many years the County has been contracting with medical specialists to provide specialized services at our Hospital and Health Centers which would otherwise not be available. Under Contract #26-793, the Contractor will provide general surgery services, including clinic coverage, surgical procedures, on-call and administrative support services, through February 28, 2018. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring general surgery services at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
