APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a purchase
order with Cintas Fire Protection in an amount not to exceed $200,000 to procure fire extinguishers and fire
extinguisher inspection and certification for the period of April 1, 2015 through March 31, 2017, Countywide. (100%
General Fund)
FISCAL IMPACT:
This cost is to be funded through the Public Works Fiscal Year 14/15, 15/16, and 16/17 Fleet Services and Facilities
Services budget. (100% General Fund)
BACKGROUND:
Public Works Fleet Services and Facilities Services are responsible for fire extinguisher maintenance in County
buildings and vehicles. Fire extinguishers must, by law, be inspected and certified annually. Public Works bid for this
commodity as bid on BidSync No. 1501-117 and awarded it to Cintas Fire Protection. The original purchase order is
for two years with three possible one-year extensions. This request represents the initial two-year term.
