HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03102015 - C.26RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21626 to add two (2) Licensed Vocational Nurse (VT7G) positions ($3,854- $4,922) in the Contra Costa Health Plan division of the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: The additional costs associated with this action are approximately $186,801 annually with benefits. Costs will be funded by CCHP Enterprise Fund III (100%). BACKGROUND: CCHP has approximately 5000 new members per month as part of Medi-Cal Expansion. This has increased the number of members being referred for case management services from 800 in 2013 to 1080 in 2014 with anticipated continued growth in 2015. New referrals in 2013 were on average 69/month. In 2014 referrals increased to 90/month. In order to sustain growth at this level, I am requesting 2 LVN's to support the RN and MSW case managers. Case managers will continue to have their own case load but will be able to work a larger case load (80/FTE as opposed to 65/FTE) with the assistance of an LVN. Hiring LVN support would be more cost effective than hiring more costly RN/MSW case managers.
