RE-APPOINT Eric Brown to the East County City 1 seat on the Affordable Housing Finance Committee to a new
three-year term expiring June 30, 2017, as recommended by the cities in East County.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
The Affordable Housing Finance Committee (AHFC) advises the Board of Supervisors on the allocation of
approximately $3 million in HOME Investment Partnerships Act, and Community Development Block Grant funds
for affordable housing development in Contra Costa County. The Committee consists of nine members, including
three Community Representatives, three County Representatives, and three City Representatives. The three City
Representatives are nominated by the cities in each subregion of the County. All AHFC members are appointed by
the Board of Supervisors to serve staggered three-year terms.
Applicants for the City Representative positions are considered by the appropriate cities and their recommendations
are forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for approval.
Eric Brown, a resident of Brentwood, has served on the AHFC since 2008. He is an active and engaged member of
the committee. Conservation and Development staff surveyed the cities of Antioch, Brentwood, Oakley and Pittsburg
to seek support to re-appoint Mr. Brown
