HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10281986 - X.5 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) THE DEDICATION OF THE ) THE REACH PROJECT CENTER ) RESOLUTION NO. 86/634 WHEREAS, on October 29, 1986, the REACH Project will proudly dedicate the completion of its new Center, and will celebrate over 16 years of dedicated service to the community of Antioch and East Contra Costa County, and it is appropriate at this time that the REACH Project receive special honors and highest commendations; and WHEREAS, the above dedication will be held in conjunction with "Red Ribbon Week" , October 26-31, 1986, and will aid in promoting public awareness of the need to eliminate drug abuse; and WHEREAS, the REACH Project, a community counseling agency combating the causes of drug/alcohol abuse and juvenile crime, was established in April of 1970, under the auspices of the City of Antioch and the Antioch Police Department; and WHEREAS, the REACH Project has successfully proven itself to be a true model for other communities to emulate in order to more effectively combat youth problems, especially drug and alcohol abuse; and WHEREAS, the REACH Project has combined the resources of our County with those of the State, City School District, as well as with the community itself, a totally comprehensive and mutually supporting set of programs has evolved to benefit all concerned; NOW,, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors heartily commends the REACH Board of Directors, the Project Director, the staff and volunteers of the REACH Project for its valuable services to the community as it dedicates its new Center. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 28th day of October, 1986. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors of the date aforesaid.
