HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02032015 - C.70RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #74-463-2 with Bi-Bett Corporation, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $129,590, to provide transitional housing services for homeless adult males who have recently completed substance use treatment, including referrals from County’s Assembly Bill (AB) 109 program, for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by AB 109. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing specialized transitional housing services for homeless adult males referred from County’s AB 109 Program and from substance use disorder treatment programs. In February 11, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract approved Novation Contract #74-463-1 with Bi-Bett Corporation for the provision of transitional housing services for homeless adult males who have recently completed substance use treatment, including referrals from County’s AB 109 program, for the period January 1, 2014 through June 30, 2014. This Contract included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014. Approval of Novation Contract #74-463-2 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County clients who are in need of transitional housing services will not have access to Contractor’s services possibly resulting in substance use relapse or recidivism.
