She stated that the measure will be on the ballot in 20 California counties this November, and that approximately 18 other counties have expressed support for the measure. She urged the Board to join those counties in expressing support for Measure A. Supervisor Jan Hewitt of Solano County also appeared and advised that Measure A will be on the ballot in Solano County. She commented on the need for counties to be relieved of the burdens placed on them by State mandated programs which are diverting local funds from local services such as police, fire and library services. Board members expressed their appreciation to Supervisors Wheeler and Hewitt for their presentation, and noted that Measure A is consistent with the Board' s previously adopted position on funding of State mandated programs. Therefore , IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the proponents of Measure A. related to funding and reimbursement for State mandates, are AUTHORIZED to include Contra Costa County as a support County. cc: Supv Hilda Wheeler County Administrator I hereby certify that this Is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on. the :minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the dale shown.
