Confirmation of Nominations to VtJl l
SUBJECT; Water Task Force
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Confirm membership to the Water Task Force of the nominees
listed on the attached sheet.
2. Refer to the County Administrator' s Office the request of
the Community Development Department for an Appropriation
Adjustment in the amount of $25,000 for staff support to the
Water Task Force.
3 . Remove this item as a referral to our Committee.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Water Task Force was not included in the Community
Development Department' s budget as submitted and discussed before
the Board prior to the beginning of this fiscal year. There is
no firm way to estimate the amount of staff effort that will be
necessary to function the task force, but the $25,000 estimate is
sufficient to provide approximately one-half of a professional
employee with full support. The County Administrator' s Office is
requested to determine the most appropriate source of these funds
to report this matter back to the Board.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Board of Supervisors on July 29, 1986 established the Water
Task Force and directed the Community Development Department to
solicit names of persons to serve on the task force and to report
back to the Internal Operations Committee for review and
recommendation to the full Board. Accordingly, the Internal
Operations Committee reviewed the nominations at its meeting of
October 27, 1986 and have forwarded the list of names to the
Board for final confirmation. It should be noted that responses
from several of the invitees have not yet been received; however,
when the nominations are submitted they will be brought to the
Board for confirmation.
The Community Development Department has tentatively set November
13 , 1986, at 7 : 30 P.M. , in the County Board Chambers, as the
first organizing meeting of the Water Task Force.
