Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Purchase
Order with CDW Government LLC for $291,528.79 for the replacement and maintenance of current mobile computer
workstations (WoW; Workstation on Wheels) at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra
Costa Health Centers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I which is included in the budget.
BACKGROUND:
CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers WoW batteries are failing at an alarming rate and will be obsolete in 3
months, which will cripple CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers, if they are not replaced as soon as possible.
This vendor provides the only portable, medical grade and most cost effective, workstation on the market. This
enables CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers to provide the medical staff and patients with the safest, in regards
to infection control, HIPAA and ergonomics possible, environment for safety and patient care.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this purchase is not approved, CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers will be unable to provide the safest, most
reliable care, to patients or the staff.
