HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12162014 - C.70RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Health Services Department to execute a Purchase Order with Pharmedium Services LLC, in an amount not to to exceed $305,000, for pain management/ pre-mix medications for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period February 1, 2015 through January 31, 2017. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% funding is included in the Enterprise Fund l budget. BACKGROUND: Recalls and back orders of medications have prompted the Pharmacy Department to directly purchase medications through manufacturers such as Pharmedium Services, LLC. These medications are in short supply or are not commercially available through our contracted drug wholesaler, Cardinal Health. This is a renewal of blanket purchase order #46528, which will expire on January 31, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this Purchase Order is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers will not be able to purchase the medications required to appropriately manage/control acute pain in primarily post-operative and OB patients. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
