The following people commented on the selection of a new Animal Services Director and hopes for the
implementation of a no-kill animal shelter in Contra Costa County:
Catherine Meyers, resident of Clayton (handout attached); Lou Lewis, resident of Antioch; Corinne Tate, No Kill
Contra Costa; Marty Tatti, resident of Walnut Creek (handout attached); Allyn Lee, resident of Alamo (handout
attached); Carol Ann Quigley, resident of Martinez (handout attached); Beth Bennett, resident of Hercules;
Debbie Rodriguez, resident of Walnut Creek (handout attached); Barbara Maletesa, resident of Alamo; Michael
Parker, Richmond Progressive Alliance.
The following people did not wish to speak but left written comments for the Board's consideration (attached):
Marcia Stuart, resident of Pacheco; Allison Harper, resident of Concord; Angela Craig, resident of Concord; Katy
Himsl, resident of Concord.
Douglas Dunn, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), spoke on implementation of Laura’s Law in Contra
Costa County (handout attached);
Rosemary Profit-Akins, SEIU Local 1021, spoke on hopes for positive negotiations, especially in light of the
Board’s recent approval of a salary raise for themselves.
