HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12022014 - C.123RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-475-4 with K.B.R.,Inc.(dba Rash Curtis & Associates), a corporation, effective October 1, 2014, to amend Contract #23-475-3, to make technical adjustments to the Service Plan, to reflect a reduction in the reimbursement rate for unpaid Early-Out accounts claims on behalf of the Health Services Department, with no change to the payment limit of $1,100,000, and no change in the original term of July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment will result in a reduction reimbursement rate to allow the County to receive other collections on debt for unpaid account. This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise I funds. Contractor will be paid on a commission basis for debts it actually collects. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On August 5, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-475-1 with K.B.R., Inc. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-475-2 will allow the County and Contractor to modify the Service Plan to make technical adjustments to the Service Plan, to reflect a reduction in the reimbursement rate for unpaid Early-Out accounts claims on behalf of the Health Services Department, with no change in the original term through June 30, 2016. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, the County will not be able to receive payment for unpaid Early-Out debt collections recovered by Contractor’s services.
