HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12022014 - C.109RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #24–933–31 with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $7,383,000, to provide subacute skilled nursing care services for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2015, in an amount not to exceed $3,691,500. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (Rate increase) BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population in that it provides subacute skilled nursing care services for County’s Seriously and Persistently Mentally Ill (SMPI) and neurobehavioral clients. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014, for the provision of subacute skilled nursing care for County’s Seriously and Persistently Mentally Ill (SPMI) and Neurobehavioral clients. Approval of Novation Contract #24 933 31 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2015, including mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Behavioral Health Services Division/Mental Health places clients at Contractor's facilities licensed for various levels of care. If the contract is not approved, a significant number of mentally ill young adults and adults may be displaced to the community without the mental health services they require. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
