Home My WebLink AboutMINUTES - 12022014 - C.86RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Arboricultural Specialties, Inc. d/b/a The Professional Tree Care Company in an amount not to exceed $900,000 to provide on-call tree trimming services for the period of November 1, 2014 through October 31, 2017, Countywide. (100% General Fund) FISCAL IMPACT: This cost is to be funded through Facilities Services' fiscal year 2014/15, 2015/16, and 2016/17 maintenance budget. (100% General Fund) BACKGROUND: Public Works Facilities Services is responsible for maintaining the grounds around County facilities. Tree maintenance and trimming are an important part of this maintenance. The County does not currently have enough staff to complete the amount of tree trimming required. If approved, The Professional Tree Care Company will assist County staff in performing this maintenance. As bid on BidSync No. 1408-095, The Professional Tree Care Company was the second lowest responsible and responsive vendor, and will become the secondary vendor for this commodity. This is for a three-year contract. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this is not approved, tree trimming with The Professional Tree Care Company will be discontinued.
