HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12022014 - C.49RECOMMENDATION(S):
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21525 to increase the hours of one (1) part-time (32/40) Community
Library Manager (3AGG) (represented) vacant position No. 6255 to full-time (40/40) at salary plan and grade
ZAX-1624 ($5,381-$6,872) in the Library Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval this action will result in an annual cost of $19,202.66, which is funded within the FY 2014/15 Library
budget.
BACKGROUND:
The Library carefully evaluated the activity, hours of operation and staffing levels at the Moraga Library and found
that the full-time employee (FTE) ratio was significantly higher than those at other community libraries in the county.
This factor, combined with the expansion of key relationships and the addition of Sunday open hours requires the
increase of management oversight. A full-time position also assists the Library with employee retention.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the increase in hours is not approved, the Moraga Library will be inappropriately staffed and without the required
management oversight.
