(represented) position at salary plan and grade KKX 1506 ($4,788 - $6,114); one (1) Clerk- Experienced Level
(JWXB)(represented) position at salary plan and grade 3RH 0750 ($2,712 - $3,365); five (5) Eligibility Worker I
(XHWA) (represented) positions at salary plan and grade 255 0948 ($2,762 - $3,358); and five (5) Social Services
Program Assistant (X0SA) (represented) positions at salary plan and grade 255 1384 ($4,254 - $5,171) in the
Employment & Human Services Department, Workforce Services Bureau.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this position (1 - Experienced Level Clerk) will cost $25,075 of which the net county cost will increase
by approximately $6,415 during the current fiscal year. This position will be funded by 50% Federal revenue, 40%
State revenue, and a 10% Net County Cost. The annual pension cost (12 mos) is $25,075.
Approval of this position (1 – Eligibility Work Supervisor) will cost $43,361 of which no net county cost during the
current fiscal year. This position will be funded

BACKGROUND:
The Department is requesting to add one (1) Eligibility Work Supervisor I, one (1) Clerk-Experienced Level, five
(5) Eligibility Workers and five (5) Social Services Program Assistant positions in Workforce Service Bureau.
These positions are necessary to adopt state budget projects, as there has been an increase in CalFresh cases due to
the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and provides an increased level of CalFresh funding over the
January budget. As a result, the Employment and Human Services Department is projecting an increase in
CalFresh funding that will fully support these additional positions.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the Department will have insufficient staff to maintain the projected increase in
CalFresh cases due to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. This will put the County population at risk.
