Dear Supervisor Gioia,
For compelling and unavoidable personal reasons I am resigning my Commission on the Contra
Costa County Arts and Culture Commission (AC5) effective November 20, 2014 . I appreciate
the opportunity that I have had to provide volunteer service for the last 4 ½ year to the
residents of Contra Costa County . During my tenure on the Commission, I have been Vice Chair
and for the last 1 ½ years I have been Chair. I have participated in all ongoing Commission
programs. I forged a collaboration of AC5 with the County Health Department’s Art of Health
and Healing, headed by Dr. Alan Siegel. I created the Arts Café program that is now being used
to educate and entertain County residents about the intersection of art and healing. I am
proud to have provided exceptional service to the County.
Being an El Cerrito resident, I admire your achievements for the County and I will always extend
my support to you and AC5.
Sincerely,
Dyana Bhandari
