HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12022014 - C.01RECOMMENDATION(S):
ADOPT Resolution No. 2014/437 approving and authorizing the Public Works Director, or designee, to submit and
accept if awarded, a grant application to the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery
(CalRecycle) for rubberized asphalt concrete and chip seal projects, Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact. This grant opportunity allows the County to receive up to $250,000 for each successful
application from CalRecycle for rubberized concrete and chip seal projects. Grant funds will offset the higher costs
of the products. No County match required.
BACKGROUND:
CalRecycle provides grants to promote use of recycled content surfacing products derived from recycled
California-generated waste tires. Rubberized asphalt concrete and chip seal products can be used to prolong the life of
the County's roadway system.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the application is not approved, the County will not be eligible to receive CalRecycle funds.
