HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11042014 - HA C.09HHRECOMMENDATIONS ACCEPT report on the award of Project-Based Voucher set-aside funding to the Housing Authority from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. BACKGROUND Annually, HUD makes additional voucher funds available for a variety of unforeseen circumstances. HACCC was awarded set-aside funding, if needed, to cover subsidy payments for newly constructed project-based voucher units in Lafayette and Martinez. These units were not in use when HUD was calculating HACCC's current funding. This funding will ensure that the owners of those properties are paid in a timely manner and also that no existing S8 families lose their vouchers. FISCAL IMPACT The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the Housing Authority (HACCC) $1,104,001 under HUD’s Federal Fiscal Year 2014 Set-Aside Funding. These funds will be used to pay for newly leased Project-Based Voucher units if HACCC's voucher funding allocation is not adequate during the current federal fiscal year.
