HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11042014 - C.51RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with FamiliesFirst, dba EMQ FamiliesFirst, in an amount not to exceed $382,121 to provide family preservation services for the period October 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: $382,121: 20% County; 33% Federal Promoting Safe and Stable Families (CFDA 93.665); 47% State Promoting Safe and Stable Families BACKGROUND: Contractor was selected through competitive bid, Request for Proposal #1140, to provide intensive family preservation services. Family preservation support services provide ongoing case management services that engage and establish a positive rapport with families who have been referred from existing Child Welfare cases, are experiencing multiple stressors impacting their ability to parent effectively, and are consequently at risk of having their children placed in out of home care. Contracting process was started on September 12, 2014, but because of delays in processing, unable to submit board order for approval October 21, 2014.
