Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, a Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-395-18 with Locumtenens.com, LLC a limited liability company, effective November 1,
2013, to amend Contract #26-395-13 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-395-14, and #26-395-15), to
increase the payment limit by $250,000, from $450,000 to a new payment limit of $700,000, with no change in the
original term of March 1, 2013 through February 28, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On March 19, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-395-13 (as amended by Amendment
Agreements #26-395-14, and #26-395-15) with Locumtenens.com, LLC, for the provision of professional temporary
physician services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC), for the period from March 1, 2013 through
February 28, 2014.
At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target

levels of utilization. However, the utilization during the term of the agreement was higher than originally anticipated.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-395-18 will allow the Contractor to be paid for additional
professional services including emergency and critical care at CCRMC provided in good faith through February 28,
2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, the Contractor will not be paid for services rendered in good faith at CCRMC.
