Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Grant
Award Agreement #28-866 from the City of Concord, a government agency, to pay the County an amount not to
exceed $48,193, for the Concord Bicycle and Pedestrian Safe Routes to Transit Project, for the period from August 6,
2014 through February 28, 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Grant Award Agreement will result in an amount not to exceed $48,193 from the City of Concord
for the Public Health Department’s Concord Bicycle and Pedestrian Safe Routes to Transit Project. No County funds
required.
BACKGROUND:
The goal of this Project is to create a comprehensive Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan for the City of Concord
including, but not limited to, providing community engagement, outreach and education; data collection and
analysis; project planning; preparation including mapping; and plan coordination and administration to identify
solutions to safe access to transit.

indemnifying and holding harmless the City for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this Agreement is not approved, the County’s Public Health Division will not receive funding to support its the
Concord Bicycle and Pedestrian Safe Routes to Transit Project.
