HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10282014 - C.11RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to waive the three separate rental fees of $75 for the use of the Rodeo Senior Center by New Horizons Career Development Center on November 21, December 17 and December 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the Annual Food Basket Give-Away and Community Feedings celebrating the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, Rodeo area. (District V) FISCAL IMPACT: 100% General Fund. BACKGROUND: New Horizons Career Development Center requests a waiver of three separate $75 rental fees to use the Rodeo Senior Center for three New Horizons sponsored community events. These events include: 1) Community Feeding on Friday, November 21, 2014; 2) Basket Give-Away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014; 3) Community Feeding on Wednesday, December 17, 2014; and 4) Basket Give-Away on Saturday, December 20, 2014. The rental period requested is from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for each event. These Annual Community Thanksgiving and Christmas events are organized and sponsored by the New Horizons Career Development Center. The requested dates do not conflict with other community programs that take place regularly at the Rodeo Senior Center. The holiday events serve many members of the Rodeo community and the surrounding area. New Horizons Career Development Center would be responsible for paying the $300 in rental fees for use of the Rodeo Senior Center on November 21, November 26, December 17, and December 20, 2014.
