HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10282014 - C.05RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the Encroachment Permit from the City of Lafayette, with modified indemnification, effective April 1, 2015 through completion of project, for the Countywide Overlay Project, Pleasant Hill area. Project No. 0662-6R4073 FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: The Contra Costa County Public Works Department (County) secured federal funding to perform pavement rehabilitation along the northbound lanes of Pleasant Hill Road. The Encroachment Permit from the City of Lafayette (City) is needed to allow the contractor to install construction area signs, temporary traffic control signs, and construct roadway pavement conforms within the City’s jurisdiction. As a condition of the Encroachment Permit, the County will need to indemnify the City against claims and damages related to the issuance of the permit and project related activities. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Countywide Overlay project will not be able to move forward and federal funds will be lost.
