APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the District Attorney, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with United
Safety Consultants, LLC to extend the term from April 8, 2015 to June 30, 2015; increase the hourly rate from $50.31
to $53.41; increase the payment limit by $26,000.00 to a new payment limit of $141,000.00; and remove language
referencing number of hours per week the Contractor will provide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of extending the term of this contract is estimated at $26,000.00 and is anticipated to be offset 100% by
revenues from the Contra Costa County Housing Authority.
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa County Housing Authority has a need for a full time investigator to investigate suspected cases of
housing fraud in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and public housing assistance programs. This investigator is
required to review applications, police reports and other documents; interview suspects and witnesses; serve search
and arrest warrants and subpoenas; conduct surveillance, write reports and testify in court as necessary. This service

This amendment will bring the contract period in alignment with the fiscal year and the Interagency Agreement with
the Contra Costa County Housing Authority, and increase the hourly rate to industry standard.
