Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment/Extension Agreement #26-657-6 with Amarjit Dosanjh, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective
September 30, 2014, to amend Contract #26-657-3 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-657-5), to increase
the payment limit by $150,000 from $924,300 to a new payment limit of $1,074,300 and to extend the term from
September 30, 2014 through January 31, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On October 16, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-657-3 (as amended by Amendment
Agreement #26-657-5), with Amarjit Dosanjh, M.D., for the provision of professional plastic and hand surgery
services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from October 1,
2012 through September 30, 2014.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
will allow time for contractual renewal negotiations to occur sometime in the fall of 2014.
Approval of Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #26-657-6 will allow the Contractor to continue providing
professional plastic and hand surgery services at CCRMC through January 31, 2015.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this extension is not approved, patients requiring professional plastic and hand surgery services will not have
access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
