HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10072014 - C.92RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #24-443-35 with Adolescent Treatment Centers, Inc. (dba Thunder Road), a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $118,523, to provide alcohol and drug program services for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant. (dba Thunder Road) BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) return to their families and communities as productive individuals. In August 13, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-443-34 with Adolescent Treatment Centers, Inc. (dba Thunder Road), for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014, for the provision of an Adolescent Residential Chemical Dependency Treatment Program at its Thunder Road facility in Oakland. Approval of Novation Contract #24-443-35 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contractor, allowing the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this novation contract is not approved, adolescents residing in Contra Costa County will not receive the specialized treatment services that they need and may be at risk of incarceration. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
