HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10072014 - C.69RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with
Performance Marine Specialties, Inc., to increase the payment limit by $155,000 to a new payment limit of $250,000
for boat maintenance and repairs, with no change to the original term of August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2015,
Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This cost is to be funded through the Sheriff Marine Patrol 14/15 maintenance budget.
BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services is responsible for contracting Sheriff boat and vessel maintenance and repair. Fleet had originally
estimated three years of maintenance and repairs would be under $95,000. Recently, the Sheriff's Department was
able to secure a large grant dedicated to boat repair. This increased their repair schedule substantially which depleted
all the funds available on this contract with twelve (12) months remaining in the term. Therefore, Fleet Services is
requesting the dollar amount of this contract be amended.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract amendment is not approved, boat repairs and maintenance will not be performed.
