HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10072014 - C.67RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Change
Order to Blanket Purchase Order #F31391 with General Electric Healthcare Technologies to add $200,000 for a new
total of $2,818,816, for maintenance on imaging systems at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and
Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period of December 1, 2009 through November 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% budgeted in Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
This service/maintenance agreement is an existing agreement requiring additional funds. The Diagnostic Imaging
Department at CCRMC has purchased new equipment that will be out of warranty. This funding request will assure
coverage of the new equipment through the end of the existing agreement period. The technology involved with these
systems requires specialized service engineers to support them. General Electric Medical is the primary
service/maintenance provider for our imaging systems. This equipment is vital for the treatment of patients and
CCRMC.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this Purchase Order is not approved CCRMC will be unable to maintain the imaging systems, thus impacting
patient health and safety.
