HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10072014 - C.56RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Grant Award #28-798-4 (CA0189L9T051305) from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to receive McKinney-Vento funding, payable to County in an amount not to exceed $200,100, for the Permanent Connections Supportive Housing Program, for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This grant will result in $200,100 of funding from HUD, with a 20% match from the Department of Health and Human Services for the Permanent Connections Supportive Housing Program. No additional County match required. Ten (10) units are set aside for youth, who are disabled by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, or dual/multiple diagnoses. The program is designed to provide on-going supportive services with an emphasis on families maintaining their permanent, safe, and affordable housing. Approval of Grant Award #28-798-4 will allow the County to perform all responsibilities in relation to receipt of the funding for the Permanent Connections Supportive Housing Program through June 30, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this grant is not approved, the County will not receive funding to support the Permanent Connections Supportive Housing Program.
