HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09232014 - C.56RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27–814-2 with Credentals Services, Inc. (dba VerifPoint/Credentialing Solutions), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $70,000, to provide credentialing services for healthcare providers for the period from October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund III. BACKGROUND: Contra Costa Health Plan is required by law to credential its healthcare providers prior to allowing them to provide care to County’s clients, and to re-credential providers every three years. On November 23, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27–814 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #27-814-1) with Credentals Services, Inc. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) through September 30, 2014. Approval of Contract #27-814-2 will allow Contractor to continue providing credentialing services for healthcare providers, including mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract, through September 30, 2016. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s providers will not be credentialed, and Contra Costa Health Plan would be at-risk for non-compliance with Federal, State, and contractual requirements, and could subject County to potential sanctions, civil penalties, and corrective action plans.
