BACKGROUND:
On May 7, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-967-15 with Thomas J. McDonald, M.D., for the
provision of ophthalmology services, for the period from June 1, 2013 through May 31, 2014. Due to the absence of
other ophthalmologists during the months of April and May, Contractor agreed to provide additional ophthalmology
clinics. Therefore, utilization during the term of the agreement was higher than originally anticipated . Approval of
Contract Amendment Agreement #26-967-17 will allow the County to compensate Contractor for additional clinics
provided through May 31, 2014.
