HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09232014 - C.38RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Employment and Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau, to execute a Purchase Order with SamClar in an amount not to exceed $450,000 for the purchase of furniture and installation in new office space for the period September 16, 2014 through March 31, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: $450,000: 50% State, 50% Federal BACKGROUND: The Employment and Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau, is relocating 75 staff members from 40 Douglas Drive, Martinez and 2530 Arnold Drive, Martinez, to 1470 Civic Court, Suite 200, Martinez. The new office space requires furniture and installation for the incoming staff. Several quotes and options were explored to accommodate the move in October 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without approval of the Purchase Order, Employment and Human Services, Community Services Bureau, could not provide furnishings and installation for 75 staff members upon moving to new office space.
