ACCEPT resignation of Helen Benjamin, DECLARE a vacancy in the Mandated Seat No. 5 seat on the Workforce
Development Board, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the Employment
and Human Services Department Director.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
BACKGROUND:
Ms. Benjamin was appointed to the workforce Development Board on March 15, 2011.
The Workforce Development Board was created on pursuant to the Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and
has the responsibility for overall workforce investment policy, mandated workforce investment policy and oversight
of the One-Stop Career Center system.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Workforce Development Board will find it difficult to conduct routine business and fill vacant seats as required
by federal and state law.
